About The Hybrid Hobbyists

The Hybrid Hobbyists were founded in 2025, founded by a group of six friends training for Ironman Ottawa. We began raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society after our friend and teammates mother, Carole Rocheleau passed away from cancer during in the lead up to race day. Thanks to our outreach and social media presence we were able to raise over $26,000 in a little less than four months. Seeing the impact we had in such a little amount of time, we want to continue in our mission to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. We are now hoping to join forces with the amazing athletic community throughout Ottawa as we plan to offer a charity based triathlon group for any and everyone! Our group is open to people of any skill levels, whether you're training for your first sprint triathlon, are an Ironman veteran or just want to get out and enjoy our great city, we would love it if you could support us by donating to our cause and joining us on the start line.
